The College intends to introduce the course as a short term course with the aim to develop the ability of students to speak clear and correct  English for a variety of purposes, especially to bridge the gap of good results in written examinations and spoken skills, and to enable them to  meet the challenges of the competitive world today.

Contents : Methods for Improving Voice and Speech Pronunciation and Vocabulary.
The art of conversation through visual aids and functional exercises.

Duration  : 3 months

Nature of the Course : A certificate to be awarded at the end of the course.

D.H.S.K. Commerce College also promotes education through the Open and Distance Learning System of Krishna Kanta Handique State  Open University. The courses offered are :

Classes are held on every Sunday.

The College offers B.Com. and M.Com. Courses of Dibrugarh University and M.Com. Course of Gauhati University under Distance  Learning Programmes.

The College offers the following Subjects in H.S-
Core Subjects:
i)English- 200 Marks (with two papers of 100 marks each- 100 marks in the H.S. 1styear Examination and 100 marks in the H.S. Final Exam.)
ii)MIL (Assamese/Alternative English/BengaWHindi)- 200 Marks
(with two papers of 100 marks each - 100 marks in the H.S. First Year Examination and 100marks in the H.S.Final Examination.) [Point 18(a) in the Adm ission Form].

Elective Subjects
i)Third elective subject- Commercial Mathematics & Statistics I

ii) Fourth elective subject- A student may opt for a Fourth Elective subject from the following subjects- Economics I InsuranceI Banking. In case he I she so desires, he /she will have to indicate the subjects in order of his I her preference in the appropriate boxes of the Admission Form [Point 18(c) in theAdmission Form J .As the number of seats in the respective elective subjects is l imited, the allotment of seats in the Elective Subjects will be at the discretion ofAdmission Committee.

Environmental Science - Compulsory for the students ofH.S. 1stYear. Note: A Student who is declared unsuccessful in the H.S. First Year Examination will be allowed to appear at the next H.S. First Year Examinatio n as a pri vate candidate.

D.H.S.K. Commerce College is affiliated to the Dibrugarh University and the B.Com. Course is conducted as per the rules and regulations of the Dibrugarh University. The col lege offers Speciality Courses in Accounting & Finance, Marketing, Banking & Insurance, Human Resource Management and International Business at the Degree Level in the Day Shift. In the Morning Shift, Speciality Courses are available only in Accounting & Finance and Marketing.
