Students in the Commerce Stream (H.S.) shall be required to offer the following subjects -

  Core Subjects 
i) English - 200 Marks (with two papers of 100 marks each - 100 marks in the H.S. 1st year Examination and 100 marks in the H.S. Final  
Exam.)
ii)MIL (Assamese/Bengali/Hindi) - 200 Marks (with two papers of 100 marks each - 100 marks in the H.S. First Year Examination and  100 marks in the H.S. Final   Examination.)
[  Note : A student may offer Alternative English in lieu of MIL ]

 Compulsory Subjects : (but treated as elective subjects for commerce streams) :
i)    Business studies
ii)   Accountancy
iii)  Third elective subject - Commercial Mathematics & Statistics.
iv)   Fourth elective subject - A student may opt for a Fourth Elective subject from the following subjects - Economics / Insurance  /Banking. In case he / she so desires, he / she will have to indicate the subjects in order of his / her preference in the appropriate  boxes of the Admission Form [Point 18(b) in the Admission Form]. As the number of seats in the respective elective subjects is  limited, the allotment of seats in the Elective Subjects will be at the discreation of Admission Committee.
v)  Environmental Science - Compulsory for the students of H.S. 1st Year.
 

•  A Student who is declared unsuccessful in the H.S. First Year Examination will be allowed to appear at the next H.S. First Year  Examination as  a private candidate. Change of college for such candidate is not allowed.
•  Every learner at the +2 stage would be required to participate compulsorily in one area of co-curricular activity (CCA) out of  NCC/NSS/Scouts & guides/ games and sports, cultural and literacy, debating & quiz.
